A few weeks ago I solicited testimonials that I could put on our new website, aherosjourney.ca. I'm always looking for more content for the site and wanted to share this beautiful note from a long-time coaching colleague and friend Doug Ranton. He and his wife Sandra have become deep friends in the last eight years and I am honoured to share his kind words, not only about the book but about several Olympia veterans that have impacted him along his journey. Oh, the people we get to meet on our journey...These two people have inspired hundreds of young students.... Check out the website for lots of stuff on the book and the book process.  Note: If interested, please send your testimonial to coachdools71@gmail.com. and we'll get it up on the site. Thanks in advance. One of the greatest allies a person can ever have; my friend Doug Ranton Hey Chris,   I wanted to share some thoughts after reading  “A Hero’s Journey: Beyond Little Norway and Olympia Sports Camp.”   I have to admit,

Sign Up Today! Olympia Sports Camp celebrates 50 Years The first long weekend of the Summer goes by two different names. It's either Victoria Day or it's May 2-4. In the summer of 2023 it will be known in some circles as Olympia's 50th. There has been a committee discussing this for a few months now and the plans are in place for a fantastic weekend of re-living life on Oxbow Lake. It also will be a time for A Hero's Journey: Beyond Little Norway and Olympia Sports Camp to grow its legacy, capturing so much of the lore of life at Interlaken. We are looking forward to a great weekend on both counts.  The information below has been taken from  the Olympia site. Many thanks to all those on the committee and many thanks to Matt Price for putting the itinerary together and Michelle Stockstill for getting it out to the masses. It's great that there are options available, as some people may be able to only come for a day while others are able to take in the whole weekend

Joy and I have spent the last month in Maricopa, Arizona. We are very fortunate to be able to get away and we had a great time in the Valley of the Sun.  The book process involved editing my audiobook and preparing for the next stage of our journey. We hope still to continue on our Tour of Olympia.  That Tour Of Olympia will be part of the build up for the 50th Anniversary celebrations for Olympia Sports Camp and the role that A Hero's Journey: Beyond Little Norway and Olympia Sports Camp will play. Plans are already in the works for the May 24 event. When I started this book three and  half years ago I wasn't aware of the great timing a release of a book about the people and place that is Olympia as the camp prepares to celebrate its 50th year would be.  A cool moment took place on Saturday when Joy took books back to the Burlington Library and lo and behold she saw this. Not something that is needed to boost the ego in our societal scorecard, it is very gratifying and humblin
