You can tell this book by its cover

After three years of interviewing a lot of amazing people, researching the history of the land on which Olympia Sports camp now resides, and going through a journey of writing my second book, I am proud to unveil the front cover. To me this is a big step as my publishers have done a great job creating an eye-catching cover that will be in bookstores and gyms in the not-too-distant future.

The simplicity of the cover belies the fact that there are a few messages within it. The aerial picture of the land that was first named Interlaken in the 1920's shows the beauty of the property between Oxbow and Dotty lakes as well as the quality of the camp facilities that were developed over the past almost 50 years. The three pictures at the bottom show the Norwegian Air Force during the second world war, the welcoming presence when you first arrive at the camp, and the multitude of activities that a camper can join in order to gain an Olympia experience. The orange of the beautiful sunset overlooking the camp is in honour of the indigenous people who were stewards of the land for thousands of years before the European settlement process of the 1800's. An added personal angle to the cover is that the sunset picture is actually one taken about two weeks ago in Miramichi, New Brunswick at Nan's cottage.

The back cover gives a better view of the beauty of nature.Actually the back cover has been corrected since that version came out. The back cover is no awesome words from four Olympians but you'll have to read the book!

There is now a process called internal layout before a final manuscript heads for approval. This will take some time but the final steps of the writing and publishing are in sight for sure. Thanks to all who have been along for the ride in following this blog.  The release of the book and the sales process will be an exciting journey that I'm planning for now. I'm looking forward to sharing the inspiring stories throughout the book, stories that so many will be able to relate to through their own Olympia experience. In writing the book, I'm humbled that so many Olympians shared their journey so that other people can benefit from the life lessons that helped form their adult lives.
