A Thousand Words

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. One great aspect of camp life are the memories that are captured by camera and those pictures become tell the amazing story of your time at Olympia Sports Camp. We all have a pile, on old video or photo albums, or stored in our cloud, whatever that means. Here are a few of my favourites, either from my personal collection or from the many that have been sent to me. One cool part of any Olympia picture is that if you aren't in the picture, you have posed for the exact picture in the exact spot. That gives all of us a chance to witness a lot of Olympia smiles and a lot of Olympia love. Enjoy!

A Personal Note

Myself and my wife Joy, a veteran lady of leisure for week 9 for a long time, are dealing with the end stage of her mother's life. Lillian Kane is 92 and still fighting, as she has her whole life. She taught me the importance of faith through life's challenges. Her lessons and life well led are helping me write this book and in anything else I do. When I think of a hero and their journey I think of Lillian.

In times like this you need the strength of all those who love you to help you through. My energies for the next little while will be on being with Joy and our two kids Nicole and Daniel. Tuesdays With Dave will be back soon.

This blog is about the journey of the writing of the book A Hero's Journey: From Little Norway to Olympia Sports Camp. The blog will contain excerpts from the book and my personal thoughts on what the place and the people that make up Olympia's journey is all about. The title comes from the great book Tuesdays With Morrie, by Mitch Albom. The blog's title is recognizing Dave Grace as Camp Director, but all content is my own.
