A Book From The Heart One of the best feelings of writing my second book; A Hero's Journey: Beyond Little Norway and Olympia Sports Camp is the idea that sharing from the heart of my experiences and the hearts and stories of others in their journey at Olympia would make for a good read. Doing anything from the heart involves risk, with inherent rewards coming as a result. When I think of the good books I have read, it's the ones that are written from the heart that are the most impactful. I hope this book impacts others. In hindsight the message of growth, accountability  and change through challenge is very similar to my first book,  Can't Miss: The Kevin Pangos Story. This first book was published 8 years ago now and that was the journey of one hero. This book is about the journey of thousands who have walked the property of Olympia Sports Camp over the past 50 years. I'd like to share a book that I read this week that impacted me greatly and is a book that everyone

Many reunions Leading to Olympia's 50th reunion The Tour Of Olympia took Joy and I to the Frog and Firkin at Yonge and Sheppard on Sunday afternoon and it became not a  reunion, but rather reunions. Many thanks to Olympia associate director Greg Rogers for putting the event together and connecting with so many Olympia and Brebeuf HS staff alumni. Greg's constant support for my project means so much to me. Heading into the Olympia 50th Anniversary Reunion weekend of May 19-22, this event was an awesome example of the number of people we impact, the breadth of our experiences, and the different ways in which we are all connected. I'm proud and glad that the book is a vehicle for these awesome moments to happen. Reunion number 1. Greg Rogers explained that this group, and including many others, have been having a reunion for over 25 years, and all connected to Olympia Sports Camp or Brebeuf High school in Toronto. They get together for a dinner and a few drinks, but the mai

Toronto Book Event Heading toward Olympia's 50th Sending this out a day early as I will be away from the computer for a few days. Here's hoping a bunch of people in the Toronto area are able to join us next Sunday, April 16. This event, put together by Greg Rogers, is a prequel to the 50th Anniversary Reunion weekend set for May 19-22.  As always we are looking forward to sharing with Olympia connections and other basketball connections as we celebrate the place that A Hero's Journey: Beyond Little Norway and Olympia Sports Camp will have in this beautiful landmark of success of one of Canada's greatest and longest-lasting sports camps.

There's Family, then there's Olympia Family  Sunday was a beautiful day to drive to Stratford for what turned out to be another Mini-Olympia reunion. We had family there as my cousins Mike, Pete, and Velma Hansford came to support and reconnect. A big part of the early part of my journey was spent in Stratford with the Hansford family. To have them come out sure means a lot. Added to the beauty of the day was Dave and Jacquie West driving  down from Mildmay, near Walkerton, to hit the sites in downtown Stratford and stop in for a book event. Dave and I coached together in the 90's and to count him among my friends means a lot. Dave told Jacquie earlier in the week that all he wanted for his birthday was to go to Stratford for Chris' book event, grab some fish and chips, and hit the Scottish shop in beautiful downtown Stratford. Now that is what I call an ally. The Olympia aspect of the event was when three Olympia legends walked in; Brian McMahon, Rob Simmons, and Matt
