Help Wanted: Photos Needed I have often said that the process of writing A Hero's Journey: Beyond Little Norway and Olympia Sports Camp meant that it isn't MY book but it is a book that belongs to the people that make up the legacy of Olympia. Well, now is a chance to make this a reality for you. As stated, the manuscript is now in the hands of the publisher and the next step is identifying pictures that will go in the book. I have decided that each of the twelve chapters, with the theme of each being a step in the journey we are all on as hero's of our own story, will have a picture as part of the first page. So it's only 12 pictures but the process to select them is harder than I thought. So I'm looking for help. The pictures must be of a quality that the publisher can use. I already had 12 pictures picked out but they rejected them for being of poor quality. The poor quality could be because many are from phone cameras, or, in most cases, I found pictures I like

The Loss of A Legend   When Dave Grace started Olympia sports camp one of his goals was to get the very best coaches he could, knowing that good coaching and commitment to helping young people is a cornerstone of any successful sports camp.   He found one of the greats in Canadian Basketball when he hired John Petrushchak.   Coach P passed away this week. When a legend dies, those left in his wake are left with sadness, memories and reflections. Many are reflecting on how this man impacted their lives.   Let me reflect.   I’m not one of the hundreds of players who were coached by Coach P at George Harvey or Runnymede Collegiate. Their reflections that I’ve read on social media show the depth of character of a man who would do anything to help a young person on and off the court. Many of those players had their very lives shaped by their time with Coach P. My connection came much later in my journey.   I first met John in my first year as a coach at Olympia Sports Camp week 8 in 1986. H

It's so good to see all the excitement on social media of the impending return of Olympia Sports Camp in the summer of 2022. A lot has been happening and in typical Olympia fashion the energy and leadership to make things happen will make the journey of 2022 a success. Congrats to Dave Grace, Greg Rogers, all the full time staff and the plethora of new hires for the summer....The commercial featuring Leo Rautins seems to be on every time I'm listening to the radio... Awesome !! One of the most unique aspects of life at Olympia is the ability to meet world-class leaders and world class people. Olympia has always brought NBA pros up to encourage young people that they too can go after their dreams. It's cool to see these professional athletes doing everyday things in between sessions with campers, coaches, and counsellors. Playing shuffleboard, hopping on a kayak, sharing a meal, or playing hoops late at night are just a few of the things that Olympians can relate to doing wi
